Black Templars, 8th edition collection part 7

Welcome all to my ongoing blog post series for my 8th edition army collection. Today, I’ll be showing some photos on my progression on my bike squad and Land Raider Crusader. So sit back, have a cup of tea or coffee and pray to the Emperor! I hope you enjoy this post!

This post series has now reached to part seven (as a Nurgle marine fan, I’m humbled to reach this sacred number. Papa Nurgle would be so proud 😭), a lot had progressed for this collection since the start back in April. With only three more units left to paint, I think I might be able to finish these units before half way through the summer (fingers crossed 🤞). Once these units are complete, I’ll show you guys the full army as an end of 1st season post special!

Now onto the current progress photos, first up is my unit of bike squad. These guys were originally part of my old Space marine collection, the Sons of Shiban. Now that they have been scrubbed off of the old paint and given a fresh coat, they don’t look too bad.

Ravern Guard? Nooo! Actually, I’m working on painting the shoulder pads White to fit with the units designation as a fast attack unit. ‘White on black? Wouldn’t that be difficult to paint?’ Well not exactly, I have a technique that I used for the Land Raider Crusader to create a consistent white paint layer using several layers of silver as a basecoat.
Finally, the Land Raider Crusader is slowly developing from painting, so far looking really promising. I’m hoping to get this model done in about two weeks time as a deadline for it.

That’s all for now for my model progression development. Sadly I wasn’t able to put a continuation to my narrative story behind my Black Templars company. However, there will be a narrative backstory conclusion in my season final post for this collection. Until then, I hope have enjoyed this post, and I’ll see you guys for part 8!
