Hello, and welcome back to part 4 of my 8th edition collection blog post series. Today, there’s not one, but two new additions to the collection that I’ve added to my Black Templars collection. The first being the 1st Crusader squad, led by Sword Brethren sergeant Salvador and the second addition is a surprising one (I’ll mention later on), a Stormhawk Interceptor.

Darkstar crusade company 1st Crusader squad1st company Crusader squad of the Darkstar crusade company. It ain’t a Black Templars army without some good o’l fashion Bolt pistol and chainsaw. The other half of the squad are equipped with Bolters, a flamer, a Grav gun and plasma pistol/ power fist (sergeant).

Now for the interesting centrepiece for this post, a Stormhawk Interceptor was something I wasn’t originally going to add into my collection, but after seeing its reduced price tag to £20, I had to buy it. For that price alone I was really satisfied and thankful, the Interceptor looks way better than the Stormtalon counterpart in my personal opinion. (which reminds me, I seriously need to paintstrip my Stormtalon at some point).

You might have noticed that the top vent slot on the model is empty, this is due to my incompetence to notice that I had to glue both the front and back vent before glueing the top roof to the flyer. I admit this mistake was a silly one indeed.

Now that those two additions have been glued and based, I’ll start spray painting them in Black primer and paint them for this week. I’ll be posting an update on these two for either this Saturday or Sunday.
But before I finish this post, I have more hombrew lore on the Darkstar crusades journey towards the current events of Warhammer 40k. I hope you enjoy the story, and I’ll see you guys next time for part 5. ✌️

Captain Sorvan of the Black Templars Darkstar crusade, is currently onboard his ancient vessel ship of the Serapharc, heading for the Solar system (or Sol system in the tounges of his men’s language). After the current crusade he had taken command of was interrupted by the astronomican of holy Terra, he cast aside his agenda on his current crusade to return to Sol, the purest and divine of all systems in the galaxy.

The ship had suffered minor damage from warp travel as warp entity’s tried to breach into the vessel, but failed to achive any major damage due to the ships stable shield. The Serapharc finally returned to the material realm, arriving to the Sol system in just two weeks from warp travel. Thankfully, the ship was still intact thanks to the God Emperor’s divine power.

The designated destination was an Imperial Fists fortified world known as Antronim two, second moon orbiting around Antronim prime. Located on the the eastern edges of the system, this fortified stronghold was built to ensure that no xenos and renegade forces would take advantage of Antronim primes rich resources.

Once Sorvan arrived on the moons docking port, he was requested to meet the Black Templars Exterminus crusade company Captian, Avermon in the command room. Arriving alongside his trusted comrades, 2nd Squad Sword Brethren marine, Sven ‘Old born’ and 2nd squad Sword Brethren Sergent, Dicalinar.

When they entered the command room, Avermon was standing beside an Ultramarine emissary. Clad in ancient Catapharactii armour, Avermon looked bitter and dismayed as Sorvan approached. The terminator captain greeted Sorvan with a warm gesture, but troubled expression. “Ah brother Sorvan, it’s been too long since we’ve last met. I’m glad that you have received the holy message from Terra to arrive here”.

Avermon turned to the emissary as his features turned bleak, the emissary was unfazed by the captains expression as he stepped forward to greet Sorvan with stoic pride in his posture. He wore Ultramarine blue robes, and bionic attachments to his arms and legs. He was too damaged and unstable to return to the Ultramarines for battle, leaving him as an emissary for the 13th legion. “Greetings captain Sorvan, my name is Icarsus, emissary of the Ultramarines legion. Lord commander Robute Gulliman has tasked me with the duty of informing all legionary of the Black Templars chapter of new reinforcements”.

Sorvan laughed as he heard this blasphemy from the Ultramarine, why would the primarch offer reinforcements to the Black Templars? He’s not even their gene farther, let alone the master of mankind to offer such resources. The captain noticed Avermons disgust as he listened to Icarsus’s message, does his brother know something that he hasn’t ? Something was deeply disturbing about this meeting. Sorvan replied back with a raspy grate of metal through his rebreather “Is there something your hiding Icarsus, Avermon? Why would an Ultramarine be offereing us reinforcements?”

As stoic as ever, Icarsus Smiled at Sorvan with a prideful stature “No Sorvan, for I have news of great hope and prosperity, for our primarch has graced us with new reinforcements. These warriors are far more superior and adept than the mere Astartes that current operate for the Imperium. I present to you, the Primaris Space marines!”

The door behind Icarsus opens as five giant figures walk towards them. They were twice as bigger than the average Astarte height, as well as their armour looking newer with upgrade equipment. The primeris Space marines wore the same armour livery as the Black Templars of ebony black and polished white. In front of the new Astartes, the sergeant stopped and kneeled before Sorvan. He spoke through his distorted rebreather with a heavier tone than Sorvans “My lord, my name is Von Lancer, it is an honour to meet you at this time of prosperity and union. My brothers and I are at your command”. As he got up from kneeling he saw his new captains stone cold expression of disbelief.

Sorvans reply was uttered with a single yet cold response to Icarsus “This, Icarsus, is heresy!”.

To be continued.
