Infestation of unused models!

Today, I found some forgotten Tyranid models from the storage cupboard that were left there for several years (about six years to be exact).

Now that the Genestealer Cult has been announced for release on Saturday, I thought I might go back and recover my wasted Tyranids, and see if they might prove any use for me. It’s been apparent that my early days for the collection of the hobby were…..very disorganised.

The Gargoyles are half completed, missing flyer poles, missing one model and bases (with a few models that are painted horrendously, I blame my past self for impatients!).

The Ternmagant Brood unit has faired better, a complete (minus bases) unit with only one missing its head, and like the Gargoyles, a really messy paint job! So how will I fix these? For the Gargoyles, they’ll be put on 32mm bases, as for the Termagants, they’ll be having slot bases.

So you might be wondering why I’m even posting this? I’ve decided to actually try at least go back to some of the kits that I’ve failed at, the Tyranid collection is one of them. Since starting the hobby, I felt some regret at past purchases in my early days that I had no passion for, due to my inexperience at being motivated.

Another reason why is because I want to make a small force for games of Warhammer 40k, but that’s not going to happen until a new edition arrives. There’s no point in me buying the armies codex, mainly because I’ve heard that it’s not that good, but I’m not sure if their currently improved.

I need a lot of advice on what to do for the collection, as I’m not sure what I should add next to the force. I’m aiming to about 1,000pt/1,500pt for the army’s size. If you know anyone who has a Tyranid collection, and is an experienced hobbyist who might be helpful, I’d be grateful for their hobby advice. 🙂

If you have any questions, post a comment below and I’ll reply back as soon as I can. Thank you!

[note: names including- Tyranid and Warhammer 40k are owned by Gamesworkshop. This is a hobby based post only.]
